Role description

Elekta is proud to be the leading innovator of equipment and software used to improve, prolong and save the lives of people with cancer and brain disorders.

As Director Product Definition you will be responsible for the System Development aspects of our high-end MedTech products, such as Leksell Gamma Knife and Elekta Unity as well as new product releases planned from the Swedish R&D team. You will manage a team of 7 senior experts in Stockholm with the overall responsibility for the safety and effectiveness of our products. You will also be a member of the Swedish R&D Management Team.

Your key responsibilities will be the following:

·       Being part of the Global Engineering Sweden Management Team. The Management Team has the overall responsibility for a successful Portfolio performance and to ensure that we have a capable and flexible R&D organization.

·       Overall responsibility for our capability to develop and release products in the Radiosurgery and Neuroscience solutions portfolio.

·       Responsibility for the intended use of the Integrated system as well as system level architecture, requirements, verification, usability and validation.

·       Ownership of configuration management and control of product documentation.

·       Design authority for system architecture and system safety.

·       Act as deputy R&D manager when so assigned.

This position reports to Vice President Global Engineering Sweden and is placed at the Elekta headquarters in the central parts of Stockholm.

Who are you?

We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual with a broad knowledge of leadership in System Development or similar areas. You have experience from a high tech industry with high safety and quality demands and a Master of Science in engineering. We also value if you have experience from a similar role within the MedTech industry or from another industry where finding efficient technical solutions to complex scenarios is the foundation of the product development.

You are an innovative leader with demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and execution and highly motivated to lead a senior team of experts. As a person you are people oriented and living by the principle that value is truly delivered by people. You are communicative and have a curious and collaborative mindset and a natural capability to influence others.

In addition, you are committed to influence the development of the company along with changing business and market conditions. Excellent Swedish and English, both written and orally.
